Alexandria
Bound from Port Hope to Toronto on August 3, 1915, the Alexandria with cargo of
merchandise, encountered severe weather and became stranded near the Scarborough Bluffs. All persons on board were rescued
as a crowd of people gathered along the shore to watch. The severe pounding of the surf battered the vessel and she collapsed.
Eventually the ship was scavenged by souvenir hunters, and also the goods on board. Dive Information At the base of Scarborough
Bluffs opposite Markham Road. Totally broken up and combined with the sand/silt in very shallow water, about 2 meters. Boiler
is still visible from surface. Very poor visibility.
